How long does it take to port a phone number?
What does it involve?
I've been waiting a week now with no phone :(

if they do it straightway 30 mins.
normally 4 hrs coz it goes into the job list.
if they stuff it up 1 - 2 days.

The actual porting process takes around the same time whether it's a landline or mobile port.
As to how long a "port" takes - well that depends on who it's with and when they lodge it. Standard timeframes are typically 2-4 business days.

OK well finally got connected, took about 5 business days.
I wonder if I can get a discount for a week with no phone ;)
