Hi, after a call to Orcon helpdesk it turns out our genius lite is faulty. All blue lights turn on upon power up but do not distinguish. The rep said that he had posted a ticket with their returns dept and they would call me back with further details. This occurred yesterday.

1. How long should I expect to wait for the initial call? I am obviously wanting broadband asap./>2. Is there any chance I can user a non genius modem with the genius line. It would really help if I could get some sort of connection - especially with the Brazilian gp this weekend :(

Thanks.

They should just send you a replacement unit and a courier bag for the faulty one... Id call them back after a day and ask for a followup.

And yes you can use a non-Genius but you obviously wont get phones.

It should work, drop me a PM with your username, I'll see if I can help out.  What kind of connection you have will affect what settings are required to make your modem work in the meantime.

Hmm ok, got the old modem working without phones. I cannot get into the modem settings or anything. I'm waiting to hear from the replacement department to see what they say.

I should say that the web was going down to snails pace (couldn't browse web but held a skype call) then would recover a few mins later without a reboot. This happened about 5 times in the 2 days prior to the issue occurring. When the internet gave out, it rebooted the modem but it wouldn't reboot as i described...
