We are currently on a plan with Orcon

home phone, national calling and net with a fixed ip which is about 110 dollars a month

Basically the same plan is being offered for $75, the only difference being being that it uses a dynamic ip address.

I need a fixed IP as i administer a few sites and access is restricted by ip for certain sections of these sites, but surely a fixed ip isn't worth 35 or so dollars a month is it?

Same here with Vodafone, they want $20 a month (but there are so other things included with it as well), just want a fixed IP and prepared to pay a reasonable fee for it $3-$5 a month, but $20 or $35 not reasonable

Hi guys,

We currently don't have a static IP option on the new plans, they're all dynamic.

From what I understand the idea is being kicked around and is in the pipeline but we've got no confirmed dates or anything like that - in short, no static IPs on these new plans for now - apologies.

Cheers,

Cam

My dynamic stays the same for quite a while.  If it changes I access my restricted sites again via WHM panel on the servers, and updating the new ip into my WHM config.  It's a bit of a pain but free.

Thanks for that, I'll hang with Orcon for a bit longer and see what comes up.

On my old LLU naked plan the IP address never ever changed even though i don't think it was "static"
