I know you get what you pay for, and $99 for 12GB of 3G data is cheap

For the past couple of months I've found 2Degrees data in Auckland Viaduct area very very slow a lot of the time, even at the early hours of the morning

3000ms pings from me mobile in Auckland CBD to a server on the Auckland IX is not really a nice experience

I've reached out to 2d on twitter a few times with no response, not called in support yet

I can't believe I'm the only one experiencing this. I have 2 2d data sims here and when it goes slow they both go slow. Put in a Voda SIM on the same hardware and I get blazing fast DC-HSPA speeds

Are you connecting to 2degrees on 2G or 3G?

Whilst I'm no longer with 2degrees (new job who pay the bill and ported number to different network), when I was (6 months ago) I always found the speed to be great.  This was all over Auckland including in the Viaduct area (although I didnt work in that area so was only there from time to time).

I'd contact 2degrees support via official support channels if I were you.

Viaduct has more than one 2D cell, I would say you were connected to another cell

3G not edge. Currently have 5 bars signal out of 5 in the viaduct, 945am this morning, and it takes 69 seconds for front page of www.nzherald.co.nz to completely load as an example

Hi Nathan

Have you tried locking manually to our network and 3G signal if you find one.

Can you PM your details and include the following info -

The 022 number of each SIM
Are settings at Dual mode (GSM & WCDMA)?
Is network search on 'Auto'?
Does the speed change depending on the SIM?
The exact location - including street number, street name
Alternate contact number
In your words, what are you experiencing -
Is the handset getting no reception? Low signal bars?
Does the handset say limited service, no service?
How long has it been going on for?
Any error messages?

Thanks
^POB
