fellaintga: Here is the way most people switch and is great value. Ask Snap to just take your internet and get a naked VDSL plan. Then port your number to 2Talk and run your phone number through the Fritz Box Snap provides then you can have cheap calling with voicemail, caller ID and free national calls etc for $11 month. There is no need to tell Telecom if the number is ported they will stop billing you from that date.

That's fine if you want to pay the $400 cost for a new non POTS install. Since Snap! can't provision services on top of an active line you would need to get a new VDSL2 install on a 2nd pair, then port your Telecom number to Snap! to disconnect the services.
You need to sort your wiring out for VDSL2 anyway either by installing a master filter or eliminating all jackpoints and wiring the modem into a new DSL only jackpoint so you may want to pay this cost to ensure things are done correctly.

Really well thats what I did and there was no charge. He can sort out the wiring later once the number is ported to 2Talk which should improve the sync rate. Yes I had a jackpoint direct to the ETP already but still no charge and had Naked VDSL with Snap and line with Vodafone on same pair for a week until number ported. This is the way Snap advised and worked perfect.
