My sim number on Vodafone prepay is 19 digits long (8964 0109 XXXX XXXX X60). When trying to port the number to 2Degrees prepay their system tells me it must be 12 digits. I tried just taking the last 12 digits (starting from the 9 above) but no joy.

How do I get from a 19 digit Vodafone sim # to the 12 digit sim for 2Degrees? At the moment I'm getting bounced between CS teams.

I'm 99% sure you should ignore the 19th digit (the 0 in this case) and then use the last 12 digits.

Um, you buy a 2degree's SIM card and use that.

As far as I am aware you must have a 2degree's SIM to port to:
get 2degrees SIM
activate it with the number assigned to it
port you vodafone number across to 2degrees and it replaces the number that was assigned to your SIM

AFAIK you cannot use a Vodafone SIM on 2degrees (but I could be wrong)

OK, seems I was wrong and you can just use your existing Voda or Telecom SIM now...

As others have said - drop the last (19th) digit and then just use the remaining last 12 digits.

Try the 12 digits following the 6401

Edit: 2degrees obviously need to update this if there are new vodafone SIM cards around

No, you cannot use a Telecom or Vodafone SIM to connect to 2degrees. The SIM number is required here for account checks when porting the number - particularly for porting a prepay connection. Otherwise anyone could say yes please port 021 xxx xxxx and steal people's mobile numbers. So current SIM number acts like an account number to verify the mobile number belongs to you.

Thanks all. Up and running on 2degrees now. Answer was indeed to ignore the last (19th) digit of the VF SIM # and then take the next 12 across (i.e. ignoring the first 6 digits).
