I'm not quite sure what to make of this:



EDIT: My ping times to the WXC speedtest server shows 5-6ms.  I guess the Speedtest server is mis-reporting!

On another note, I see that WXC seems to be the only Auckland SpeedTest site now?

It'll be something weird going on with your network, I get 34ms ping to the above server.

I tested quickly last night when I saw this thread - got the usual 7ms on speedtest and pinging that IP directly gave 10/11ms.


It also prompted me to have a quick look at Truenet graphs and sadly Auckland evening congestion (at least in my area) is back in major force - with it more than doubling from <15ms up to 30ms+... I'll ressurect my previous thread on it tonight or tomorrow with more info.

111.69.196.209 is a Snap IP, not a WxC one?

Ah yes, yes it is. And the reason for that is that I'm a complete d**khead! That is the incorrect IP address and I've been chasing myself around in circles! :D The correct address is 58.28.13.209 and I'm getting 5-6ms ping response times from it, so Speedtest's reporting is incorrect.

Further proof that you shouldn't try to diagnose technical issues at 1 in the morning! :D
