I've been running a standard 2degrees SIM in my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE [GT-N7105] for a few months now with no problems.

The other day I ordered a Touch2Pay SIM off the 2D website to play around with the Snapper services.

After activating the SIM it worked fine for around 3 hours before it stopped allowing any voice calls however 3G data still worked fine.

Thinking it was a SIM problem I ordered another Touch2Pay SIM however the same thing happened.

I tried both Touch2Pay SIMs in a Galaxy S2 and get the same issue however my old non-Touch2Pay SIM works fine.

I was under the impression that even through the Touch2Pay service may not be officially supported by my phone model, the SIM card should at least operate as a normal SIM in incompatible phones?

I had my touch2pay SIM fail in my SGS3, but was told I could only get a new one in wellington stores.
I'm in Auckland so I just got a plain one.

Some more specific details might be useful -

Do the touch2pay SIMs work in any other phones e.g. non touch2pay/non NFC?

Were you making successful voice calls for a period and then it suddenly stopped working? If so was there any action that you suspect triggered this change?

When you say voice doesn't work, what is the error message (if any) shown on the phone or announcement (again, if any) when you try to make a call?

Can you send/receive SMS when voice doesn't work?

Does the normal signal bar show as still being attached to the network, when voice doesn't work?

Hi

You're using a different hardware version (Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE [GT-N7105]). The version we range is the non-LTE variant [GT-N7100]. The model number means more than the actual device name when it comes to some vendors and in this case the hardware and software is very different between the two.

We have approved the Note II sold by 2degrees for use with Snapper.

Mine was totally dead, it wouldn't register on network in any phone. Though it was working fine fo the first 5 months.

Might be a coincidence, but I wonder if it's happened to others with samsung phones?
Or it could be just the sim quality, it did look reasonably different to the plain ones as if they are built differently.
