I've been a long time 2degrees fan, (joined August 09), and now with an upgraded handset I want to change from 2 x prepay (phone, iPad) to 1 x on account with shared data.
The $29 plan has plenty of minutes and texts for me, but only 500mb data.
The $39 plan has only 750 mb data, and more minutes which I don't need.
I'm currently playing $20 per month for 1 GB data for my iPad, I use 50% to 75% of this each month.
I only make a few calls per month and just average/low number of texts.

Is there any way to get some more data on a pay monthly account?

Cheers,
Joseph

$29 plan + $99 for 12GB last 6 months.

Equivalent to $45.50/month and gives you 2.5GB shared data per month.

Thanks for this. I had considered it, but it's more data than I need and more than I would like to spend.

Cheers,
Joseph

Looks like it would be ok to do this. Still more than I want to spend though!

"And if you need a little bit more data then simply add a Data Pack to your Plan and you can use that across 5 devices with a 2degrees SIM."

Maybe stick with prepay then. $19 combo + $99 data.

Would cost $35.50/month and give you more shared data than you use, bottomless texts and 50 mins of call time.

Good to see add on packs are now shared.

Data sharing used to only apply to on account and not prepay . . .

Remember too, the $99 data pack is "in zone" data only, whereas the data in "on account" plans is nationwide. Whenever you're in zone, data will come from that $99 pack first and when out of zone, will come from your "on account" data pool first.

You could end up getting through that $99 pack faster than you expected, and your included on account data hardly gets touched depending on where you use it.

So to compare...

Prepay $19 Chat combo
100 minutes
300 texts
50 mb data

Plus 12gb Broadband Zone Data Pack $99 valid 6 months only

$35.50 per month
For 100mins, 300 texts and 2050ish mb data total.

But no shared data!

Versus

$29 Carryover Plan
160 Carryover Minutes
All You Need Text*
500MB Shared Data

$39 Carryover Plan
220 Carryover Minutes
All You Need Text*
750MB Shared Data

So for me the prepay option is better value, with much much more data (fewer minutes) but no shared data facility.
