Hi all,

Wondering if anyone knows if Slingshot block port 25 smtp outgoing because of spammers etc. Looking at setting up my own smtp server but i'm going to assume the ports blocked... Do you know if Slingshot allow it on request? I tried their call centre but they didn't seem to know what a port is

Cheers

I imagine they block outgoing port 25, yeah. You'd probably be better off getting a cheap VPS and setting up all the proper DNS records, etc.
(You'll get weighted as spam for being a) on a DSL/dynamic IP range, b) your reverse DNS being wrong, etc.
That's assuming that you have your DNS forward lookups setup properly with SPF/DKIM setup as well.
