I take it theres no issue with customising local network settings and WLAN security/names etc on the fritz's?

Ours has turned up already awaiting install date at new premesis, and I'd love to have a go at it and configure Static leases, IP ranges and PortForwarding etc to similarly match my current setup so cutover is seamless.

I see it's setup with account details (from signup?), Vlan10 and the PPoE Redirect on LAN1 out-of-box which is fairly simple to replicate should things need to be reset.

Be even more awesome if it can easily have the ADSL enabled and be able to use on my existing <other provider> connection.. anyone managed to do this? (or are they magical backdoor locked down so you cant) ;)

I have a FritzBox, it's not locked at all, once you  have it, it's yours to do whatever you wish
Plenty of online help to do what you want, just search.

I use one on another provider (Not Snap), and it's 100% perfect!

I seem to remember mine worked fine for ADSL (the day before VDSL was provisioned, I think)

You can backup the settings using System -> Save Settings. Then play to your hearts content ;-)

Heh confession. I tried a backup then played with it a bit. Could get dsl sync but no ppp login (DAMMIT)

Went to go back to backup... ruh roh, what it saved was a htm saying unsupportdd format when the browser (tablet) tried to save it lol... DOH

That was the only retarded move i did. Got a bit of a brain so hopefully sweet to fix it via phone if it doesnt go come ufb times lol

If the fritz has been configured for UFB, and you've reconfigured it for ADSL, then try putting VDSL settings in instead of ADSL.  It should work fine at that point and allow you to get PPP.

As it turns out, another thread buried here helped...

Theres a bug with them. Switching between modes requires a factory reset once PPPoE or ADSL is set :)

Factory reset, reconfigure and bobs uncle. Made sure I saved the config before doing so this time.. That way the remote access credentials for support etc still there
