Worth mentioning if you have a smart phone that you only use at home Turn off the data connection so you dont get caught with all those .01 charges I had scores of them over a month.

I wonder why people get a smartphone with no mobile data in accounts...

Yup - same here - am in wireless zone 99% of the time when I need to use my phone....so have data disabled. Am not on a plan, just pre-pay, so if I leave data on it just whittles away at my balance for no real gain.

Not really sure how this belongs under '2degrees', specifically?

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

It doesn't. It's not a 2degrees problem.

If you have an android phone you can also use an app called AutomateIt to do something similar, I have it set so that once the GPS gets within 200meters of my house that it turns mobile data off and then wifi on. then similar if I get to within 200m of my work it then turns off wifi and turns the phone onto silent, its a great app to have.
