This is kind of strange to happen.

My ISP is Slingshot. I my data cap is 100% gone, I still connect to the net email websites apart from www.slingshot.co.nz,
when i go there I get "The connection has timed out... The server at www.slingshot.co.nz is taking too long to respond."

Next random step was to use http://www.freeproxy.ca/  a freeproxy. And hello, the site is now responding.

That just seems wrong to me. as I have one browser tab going error and one responding well.

Yes Slingshot.... I have been with them for over a year, and I get all sort of funny things going on.
Like on speed tests i get faster speeds from Sydney then from Auckland.
Sometimes I can't get into my user account or it takes ages...

Anyway having your datacap full you should still be on 64k, who knows, you can call them but make sure you have a speaker
phone so you don't have to hold it while you're waiting.

Any way living in Auckland taught me that the shortest route to your destination isn't necessarily the fastest...

Just my 2c for Anzac day.Tongue out

I have had problems also getting logged into slingshots extra options.
I get no problems when my cap has data left, I can connect to slingshot.
I have no probles connecting to other websites. Is Slingshot being blocked?

I send a message/email that there website sucked and they should get a wiki to replace that old fashion FAQ and got a nice reply from some nice personal assistant. Which was nice, i felt.

I emailed a reply to slingshot, saying help, I can't connect to www.slingshot.co.nz.
I got an auto reply saying, just goto www.slingshot.co.nz/help or some such thing. LOL auto replys funny

i replayed to it and quickly got a reply from a tech.
Got asked to send a report of a couple of pings and tracert or twoo.

Got another message, that said something like.
Thank you again for taking the time to complete these tests. I have logged a fault to have an engineer take a closer look into the problem, and you will be contacted once the investigation is complete.

So it's been looked at, I didn't bother with getting phone support. emails are as quick as waiting on the phone, to geek randomly to a operator.

I can't connect to msdn.microsoft.com, microsoft.com or xtra.co.nz...

Highly annoying! And yes, I suffered the same non-connection to the Slingshot site when my cap was passed. I had to call them to top me up!

I got connected back to Slingshot.co.nz 24 hours ago. No reasion why it's back.

Still no luck going directly to xtra.co.nz or msdn.microsoft.com, microsoft.com
and msn is having trouble too.

But life is still good in kiwi land.

It's arse - i have a license for Vista in my MSDN account and can't get in! Their outages are terrible and the speed before about 12pm? MAX, my backside!

Have you tried a free proxy to get into the blocked sites?

I tried FreeProxy.ca and got to Microsoft.com, but MSDN was having none of it.

I can't access GMail either, unless I use HTML view. Javascript also seems to be playing up!

Yeah, same here. Two days with out msn and I still had 25g on my cap, so that's strange.

All good again and life goes on.

Same thing also happens to me. what I normally do is go to a friend's place and access the slingshot website from there, and just buy more bandwidth. and sure enough when I get home, I can access the website. frustrating to say the least. I don't use msn or xtra.co.nz so I don't really know much when it comes to those
