After reading some other stuff about Lightwire in Geekzone thought I'd mention this in here.

Out of curiosity I did a trace through Snap to www.lightwire.co.nz and it goes to Sydney and back. You guys not peering with them or are they not advertising correctly?

Cheers,
Gavin.

Where in the country are you? I'm on Snap in Auckland and I see the route going pretty much directly to www.lightwire.co.nz (~6 hops between my computer and server), ping doesn't go above 10ms (most hops are 5ms or less)

If something is going to AU and back then IMHO its a fault.. unless you are reading the traceroute incorrectly.
Can you supply the trace route?

I'm way down the bottom of the country, Invercargill, but I've just gone to get a trace output and it looks like the powers that be have taken note or something's been fixed.

It's now going via FX instead of out to Equinix and back through Odyessy which is what it was doing last night.
