Hmm, seems like Slingshot will start charging an extra $5 a month (from next month - June) for its EasyPhone features.. It was those small things that made it worthwhile (for me) to continue to stay with Slingshot as our Home and Broadband provider...

I think this is a bad move. I know other providers charge for these features, but this was one of Slingshot's biggest selling points.
I can only imagine how many angry old people are going to be switching because of this.

Yes, that's why I decided to post this on here to see how many other people thought this would be a bad move... and since I'm not on contract anymore.....

Seems a bit odd that they will charge for these features when these features are mostly not available.

The italk features have not been available to non Slingshot ISP users since December last year.

I have not received any such email as yet. Do you mind pasting a screenshot of the email?

Hi guys

This is a change we are implementing that applies to all of our Better Network customers. We feel like it is still a great deal cheaper than anyone else's equivalent pricing.

Saying this, we understand that existing customers did not sign up for this, so we have two options available for you.

1. You can opt out of the Easyphone Features. You won't receive any of the features but you won't be charged.
2. We can waive the $5 for 12 months as a goodwill gesture towards the change.

If you are interested in either of these. Please feel free to PM me here.

Thanks
Ben

Hey I got an idea, why not shave off $5 per month off the current monthly bill and if people want to have those features they can continue paying what they already have and not shave off $5?

Can we opt out at anytime? Say after the 12 month period...

Thanks, Steve

Hi,

Yeah you can opt out any time, its just a regular add on service now so it can be added or removed once per bill period.

Thanks,
Ben

Seems the phone features are free if you an italk customer.
That explains why I never received any email.

According to the website my new address is on 'The Better Network' and yet I have none of the features since our services got moved (I did at the previous place). Never mind I at least save $5.

Hi,

Yeah changing plans or services won't affect your contract.

Cheers,
Ben
