I'm setup for a direct debit from my account.  Money was deducted last night, but I get a text today saying I have not paid.  Anyone else get BS messages like this?

I delete all txts from 2degrees without reading them. I did get two txts today, but no idea what was in them. That's what happens when business spam customers.

And I have just received the "Thanks for your payment" text.  Seems they have a timing problem.

I don't use 2 degrees but there would be a time lag from when the money is deducted from your account and processed by the 2 degrees banking system and accounting. I dont really see anything wrong with this.

Yes there will be a time delay but they should allow for that before sending a "pay up" text.

I wish we could opt out of their annoying txts. Also, my payment came out yesterday (midnight) and today I got 2 "Hi there. Thanks for your payment. This has now been credited to your account. Have a great day" txts. Surely 1 would be sufficient.....or none. Sort it out 2D

What is the time delay between receiving the monthly account and the reminder TXT ?

Don't know that.  The problem is the money comes out of my account via a 2 Degrees initiated direct debit and then less then 24 hours later they send me a text saying I have forgotten to pay them and I need to go to their website and pay now.  30 minutes later I get a text saying thanks for the (previous nights) payment.  There should be at least a 24 hour delay in sending the "you owe us" text.  Ideally the "you owe us" would not be sent until the system flags that the previous nights direct debits have been processed by the accounts system.

As they say "it's not rocket science".

I refuse to let anyone have a direct debit on my bank account. Having seen so many things go wrong at the end that takes the money, I would never ever trust it.

I'm OK with DD from a credit card however, as it's not my real money they are taking if things go wrong, and if they do I can dispute the transaction. Something that is so much harder to do with a DD from a bank account.

+1 for turning texts off.

If I get one more "You're outside of a MBB zone and are using your National data"...

You can opt out of some messages - just not the ones regarding bill payments etc.

Text "stop outzone" to 233 to stop your out of broadband zone notifications

My opinions are purely my own and are not at all those of my employer 2degrees.

Yes. I posted in the text notifications thread and they are investigating. I got a thanks for paying not long after being told I hadn't paid.
