Interested to know your experiences with the speed of this product

Currently we have Vodafone business ADSL and I would describe the speeds as excellent for international but with no UFB offering we've got to start looking elsewhere.

Cost wise it looks to be a winner but I would hate to take a performance hit on international.

Hi Nitrotech,

If you would like some info about Callplus' UFB I can get one of them to call you or email you?

Let me know, they might be able to advise expected speeds etc.

Cheers,
Ben

Callplus has decent support and a consistent service for business customers. Quite expensive though. I also found their technical guy who helped the sales guy was an absolute a55hole and I don't say that lightly.

Was it a three way conversation?  Or could you just hear him in the background? :D

i've had callplus business fibre and SIP for years and i'd rate it about 8/10 all round (price, speed, performance, reliability). I'm not on a 'UFB' plan, but i'd say there probably isnt a lot of difference between our connection and a UFB profile (if any).

send me a PM if you want me to try out any intl sites for you

Hi Zeon, we’re sorry to hear of your negative experience with CallPlus. We take all feedback seriously and would appreciate the chance to speak with you directly to allow us to investigate the issue further. We will have an appropriate member of our team contact you soon.

Many thanks
Caroline

Just on this, I've rung the call centre but they seem too busy to call me back, just interested in the turn around time for UFB install - I have 4 weeks before we move shop is that do-able? Be an easy install as the duct literally sits right outside the front of the shop.

The install will depend on chorus if in Auckland, another provider elsewhere. 4 weeks is tight for a multi-party deployment which probably already has a wait list....

Cheers, i'm in Rotorua which is a chorus area too, if they decide to over complicate it then it will take months but the thing is that the duct is right outside the door ....

Just working on a contingency in case it doesn't work out.

I have a customer with Callplus who switched to 100/50 Fibre on Friday. They are getting about 95/45 locally. Support can be hit and miss, and mostly miss if the account management team aren't pushing things along (I can't imagine how bad it would be without key account management). I agree there are some incredibly rude senior engineers, but also a couple of really good ones. The problem is getting to the senior team. The escalation process seems broken though I have been assured it's going to be improved.

Still no call back - do you think they have enough customers already?

It's an option as their fibre goes past - I think the major problem is that the ISP's that connect to unison no one has ever heard of and none of them publish their plans on their website and I have to say I'd be concerned about the amount of international bandwidth they buy.

I couldn't comment on that - however as far as national players go, both FX and CallPlus are interconnected in Rotorua (although the website only says Hawkes Bay).
