Hi there,

Over a year ago I switched from Telecom to 2degrees. I also brought my Telecom number over to 2degrees. For most of the time, I had no problems. But recently, I have been unable to send any SMS whatsoever to any network, including 2degrees. I receive SMS from all networks, but cannot reply with SMS. I can voice call to all networks, however.

My phone is a ZTE R6, originally on Telecom. When I send a SMS, it confirms it has sent without error, but the SMS never seems to show up on the recipient's phone. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Have you logged onto your 2 degrees sites and checked if the Texts have been received by them. Your 2 degrees have a record of each text. This will at least indicate if the problem is handset or network.

Thanks,

I've just checked it now, and the texts do show up on my account. So it seems the messages are leaving my phone to wherever they go, but stop there and go no further...

On the basis of this you will need to log a fault with 2 degrees help desk giving specific examples of failed texts. It would probably be helpful if you gave examples of texts to other, 2 Degrees numbers as they can fully track these

Maybe the SMS message center number has vanished. It happened to me on a fone that I was using on Skinny..

Hi, double check the Service Centre is set to +64220227672. However if it's showing on your usage then the Message Centre # should be ok and the problem maybe when it's hitting the SMSC.

Does the same thing happen if you pop your SIM in another phone?

If you haven't already logged this with Care on 200 please can you PM me examples including times, dates and numbers sent to, including your own. :)

Cheers
