Is there such a charge, I read of a subscriber being charged this (4x$20) 4 months after the install.

I've not heard of such a charge from Snap, sounds like someone is confused.
I'm on snap VDSL .

The surcharge hasn't been around for over a year. I've asked that guy on GPForums to PM me his details to sort out what the deal is there!
