Hi,

I'm on UFB 100/50MB, in Auckland.

It seems that many YouTube videos are quite slow in response. For instance I'm watching content on 1080p, it would take about 10-20secs for the buffer to start. When it does start it would download pretty quick, somewhere around 10MB, then it will stop as if it's waiting for the video to finish the first buffer, then it will start buffering again. I would have almost wait 20secs for every 1min of video.

It's only started to do this after the weekend.

Running the latest flash, and I have even tried YouTube on HTML5.

Would be interested to know if anyone else is also experiencing the same issue. I have Snap VDSL at work, but I haven't tried it yet...

- Nick

I'm in Christchurch VDSL and last night was terrible for You Tube, symptoms were exactly the same as yours...

Same for me, Auckers. Some videos didn't want to play at all, I had to refresh the page top get them to go.

I'm on Xnet fusion (ADSL2+) and have the exact same problem, so doesn't seem to be isp related.

Snap in Palmerston North here, and Youtube is very slow to respond the last couple days, both initially loading the video, and often times having to buffer mid-stream.

Also, Snap, your hold music is getting a bit old :-P And why have you done away with announcing caller's position in the queue? Used to appreciate that feature.

It's not ISP related by the looks, I've seen some performance issues with it even on Telecom, so might be on Google's end.

Same issue here in Brighton. Sometimes it needs 2 or 3 reloads of the page before it will start playing...

I'm experiencing the same issues from Japan since yesterday (from time to time) - so the problem is probably with youtube itself.

Hi All,

Just confirming, there does not appear to be any known issues on our network or between us and Google, so it may well be an issue outside our network.

Thanks,
TheRalph

I certainly am... never thought that that might be interfering with it...  Might have to do some testing.  It's very intermittent tho.
