You probably need to change your cellular settings. For the Telecom sim:

Go into - settings - general - cellular - cellular data network: Scroll to the bottom and click on reset all settings.

Then scroll up to 'Cellular Data' and in the APN line type the following:

internet.telecom.co.nz

Turn phone off then back on again.

If you want to insert the 2 degrees sim, do exactly the same thing but under the APN line type the following:

internet

Cheers and good luck.

Gazbo: Having the correct APN details makes no difference at all if you can get service or no service at all with the sim cards.

The iPhone was most likely carrier locked and the jailbroke/carrier unlocked in the past and it is not a NZ sourced iPhone (Euro you said?). I presume you have upgraded the software on the iPhone recently which has removed the jailbreak/carrier unlock?

If so you will have to re jailbreak/carrier unlock it. How you do it depends what version of software it it running now?

Right you are. I've never jail broken any IOS devices before. A bit harsh to cut your phone off. I did not know they could do that. Brutal.

While this looks to be a locked phone issue if you have a faulty 2° SIM you can pop into a 2degrees store, Dick Smith, Warehouse Stationery or Harvey Normans store to check it out and get a blank SIM to do a SIM swap.

Here's more info - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/help/simcards

What changed from it working and not working?

As joker said.. you might have broken something inside changing SIM Cards if you have not changed anything else.

What baseband is it running? Did the phone have a gevey sim interposer?

Don't install any new OS on the phone or you run the risk of having an expensive iPod touch.

While not impossible that you may have broken the sim pins it is more likely you've got an interposer which is causing issues

do have a app name is SAM.  bought this iPhone from Ireland, when i got it, it have already been jailbreaked. was running 2degrees SIM, took the phone to China last year(running a Chinese carriers SIM, and switched back to 2degrees when i got back). last month, tried to insert a Telecom SIM, then the drama starts to playEmbarassed: no service.....  tried to put the old 2degrees SIM in, nothing changes.

should i just reset the SAM? or should i just return it to the factory setting and update to the newest IOS, jailbreak it and try set SAM again?

Have you tried the SIM in another phone?  It may not be active.  Jailbreaking is nothing to do with the network so won’t affect your phone.

If the phone SIM pins were faulty you’d think it should say NO SIM, not No Service.

Don't go updating it - you'll end up with having to do a tethered jailbreak on 6.1.3 which will be a pain.

Sam sometimes does need to be reset when you change sims info can be found here

http://m.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=21501

Whatever you do backup your Sam activation or else you ont be able to unlock it on that baseband.

Sorry you now have a brick - that's why I said earlier don't update it

Unless you have your Sam activation ticket the only option is a full network unlock .

PM me and I can see what I can do to help you
