I see in stuff that Snap will be launching a medium speed ufb offering in some areas.
Source here
Would be interested in something like this for my area (Chorus) at some stage as well.
Any progress on getting Chorus to consider a 50/20 instead of a 50/10 plan?

I hope this plan addition comes at the same time as a plan refresh across all services.

Hi guys

This potential new UFB offer will get wrapped up into the retail price review underway at the moment.

At this stage our preference is for a 50/20 product rather than a 50/10 as it delivers a good increase both ways over the entry level 30/10, while coming in quite a bit less than the premium 100/50 service.

Cheers
Ralph

Ralph, is this mid range UFB product likely to be available to all Snap UFB customers?, or only those in the areas mentioned in the article at stuff.co.nz?

I'm in East Tamaki Auckland and connected with Snap UFB.

Cheers

I'm a few years off UFB (at least) so am on VDSL for now with 45/10. Already dreaming of the day I can drop copper though.

I was thinking a step down to UFB30/10 wouldn't work for me and 100/50 would be overkill. A 50/20 plan would be a sweet spot for me and I'm sure many others.

Hi gmball

We will offer in Chorus areas as well, at this stage they seem to be a little slower than the others in getting the service up & running, best guess at this stage is a couple of months away.

Keep checking in here as to any announcements on availability, we'll also likely eDM all existing 30/10 customers as we believe a number will upgrade if we get the pricing right!

Cheers
Ralph

Hi Ross

Sorry about this, the guys on the helpdesk don't have any information on this yet as we still need to determine the final product and price point, as well as availability.

We'll get this sorted over the next few weeks and you can rest assured that by the time we announce it on Geekzone the helpdesk will be well informed!

Cheers
Ralph

Just wondering if you were meant to have this offer listed on your sign up page already or someone jumping the gun?

Have just called up and placed my order for the 30/10 plan but would be keen to see what pricing structure the mid tier 50/20 offers.

Interesting, 30/10 will come with 100GB of data up from 50?
(though keen to pay a little bit more and get the mid speed probably).

Hi guys

The 30/10 product includes 100GB now as standard. Likely that the 50/20 product will do likewise.

Pricing still to be confirmed for the 50/20 but we'll definitely allow people in contract for the 30/10 to upgrade if they want to ... will post once we get the availability timelines nutted out.

Cheers
Ralph

Excellent! Once the 50/20 prices are confirmed, I'm more than likely going to switch over :)

Just want to confirm what i seen in another thread. I recently switched to ADSL with snap, thinking that UFB wasn't going live in my area to mid 2014. However its been fast tracked and now happens in October. I believe i will be able to switch to UFB once its available and i wont have to wait out my ADSL contract?
