Hi,

We are looking at getting either VDSL or Fiber at our office. Just wanting to know if the Netgear N600 DGND3700v2 is able to support VDSL or fiber, or do we have to buy the modem off Snap.

Looks like it's only got an inbuilt ADSL modem, so you would need a VDSL modem of some kind for VDSL. I think it should be usable for UFB (which you should get over VDSL if it's available already in your area) but I would guess you'd need to set it up yourself and it needs to support VLAN tagging.

Actually no you can't use this for VDSL or Fiber. It doesn't support VLAN tagging either...

If you signup to a 24 months contract with Snap, you get the fritz!box 7340 for free worth $350 or if you pay them extra $50, you can get the 7390 which is worth $400. 7390 has 4 gigabit Ethernet ports and simultaneous dual band Wi-Fi support for 2.4GHz & 5GHz band. You also get extra data every month for 24 months for going on a 24 month contract. Both models work with VDSL and Fibre.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Humm seems Snap doesnt want as a customer. They havent called us back like they said they would. Customer service is terrible, not returning calls, each service rep is giving us a different cost for install ranging from $2000 to $129 to "we cant tell you how much it is going to cost until you sign the contact". No wonder no one is signing up for fiber, the ISPs wont sell it to people that want it even if they have fiber running past their office.

I use DGND3700 with our local fiber provider. They don't require VLAN tagging support. This router works well on 100/50

Why don't you just signup online? the install fees are all quite standard, there are 3 quite specific install costs for Snap fibre, no contract $99 - 12 or 24 month $0. Snap also wont support any other device apart from the Fritz box.

Or are you after a business connection?
