Ordered a Nexus 4 over the weekend after seeing the new low price on the store.
Expected to receive a shipping email on Monday but if it didn't come through it wasn't going to be an issue.

Reading the Nexus 4 NZ thread over at XDA someone mentioned they ordered Monday and received the shipping notice on Monday as well. This got me thinking that I should have also received mine.

Rang up the helpdesk at 9pm Monday and spoke to someone and just enquired if my order had shipped - after a 5 minute wait I received a tracking number for my order via Post Haste. Checking it via the Post Haste website it didn't lead anywhere so I thought I would call them Tuesday morning and see if the tracking number was correct.

Before I could call them I received a parcel (at work, which was the address I used when ordering) and opening it I found my new phone. Shipped via NZ Couriers.

As of typing this (12.25pm) I have not yet received my shipping notice.

Happy to receive, but annoyed that the promised email has not been sent/received and that when questioned I was given completely wrong information. 2D have been made aware of my annoyance when I called to activate my new SIM card.

Even more annoyed now - I requested a new MicroSIM from the store when I ordered the phone and when I went to port my number was told that I had to purchase a blank SIM from a 2D Store (or other retailer). Why did they not supply me with the correct SIM when I checked out ..

So hard to enjoy my new toy.

$499. Not a bad price.

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

Please can you PM me your order number, your 2degrees number and the email address you entered when you placed the order. I assume you've checked your junk mail?

Thanks

I was always under the impression that email is not a guaranteed service.

There are lots of different factors that could have meant you never received the email, and i think it is a bit rude to start blaming 2Degrees Mobile for something that may turn out to be an issue at your end.

Have you talked with their support about the confirmation email, and if it was sent from their end?

I agree with this, also on the 2D store you are able to purchase standard sims only apart from the Nano sim. If you purchase a phone with a different sized sim card you need to purchase a blank sim card (i.e. does not have a number attached to it). 2D cannot swap your number onto a sim that already has a number on it.

Also were your seriously expecting something you ordered during a weekend to ship during the weekend? Pretty sure most retailers online stores only process orders during normal business hours.

Either way you got a phone at a nice price and learnt something now so you should be happy!

What I read was that they ordered in the weekend and expected the order to be processed Monday. What thread are you reading?

Just had a call from 2D, which was nice but left me wondering why they bothered

According to their system the phone was delivered Wednesday (I got it Tuesday)

They asked about the SIM card and I replied that I needed to head to the store to get a new correct card as the one shipped was not correct - whoever was calling informed me I had to be a customer first (um, yeah - have been for over 2 years now)

I informed that I still haven't received a shipping notice email and this was ignored.

So while it was a nice try 2D, try bringing up a customers history before someone told to call someone - I am sure that 2 minutes searching would have told you I had been a customer for more than 2 years and had just activated a SIM on Tuesday.

- also thanks to PaulBags for asking the question I had when I saw the reply from BTR.

Also did receive a reply from 2D Care, they are investigating why I did not receive the shipping notice.

I would have thought buying the phone would have made you a customer, and that you should expect to get the correct sim card with it when you ordered them together. Frankly even if you ordered the wrong sized sim card they should have realised at packing time and contacted you to verify what you wanted. Better a day late than giving someone the run around.

Surely, since you got the phone, the shipping notice is irrelevant, bu the incorrect SIM type is the issue?

From my point of view, the shipment email is communication from the seller that my order has been accepted and is on the way. When I ordered I received an email that states

It’s official, we’ve received your order.

Hi [name]

Thanks for ordering from our Online Shop. This is just a quick confirmation that we’ve received your order and are springing into action to get it dispatched to you as fast as we can.

Your order number is [order number]. Please keep this number handy in case you need to call us about your order.

In the next day or so we’ll drop you another email to let you know that your order is on its way and when to look out for the courier. You’ll also find a GST invoice attached to the next email in case you need one.

If you have any other questions or problems along the way, just call our Customer Care Team on 0800 022 022 day or night.

Thanks again,

The SIM card issue is just slightly annoying
When I checked out I was given the opportunity to add a free SIM card to my order (which I did, as I was moving from regular to Micro). They sent me the wrong SIM and I had to head to the 2D store to purchase ($5) the correct one.

Thankfully I work a block away from the 2D Store.

Have you thought that there was a chance that you entered the wrong email address when you ordered?
It is surprisingly easy to enter a stray charter when touch typing sometimes even when not touch typing.

Sure did but seeing as I got the above email right after I ordered AND when I supplied the information to 2D Care they confirmed they had the correct email address in the system.

So little to no chance that it was the wrong email
