Just got my latest bill and noticed it was $10 more then normal.

Under Financial and Admin there is a $10 charge.

The detail is "Genius Go prize credit" $10.

Im sorry but you seriously charged me $10 instead of crediting me??

After billing errors on my first invoice and charging me rental on my modem when its free on my plan I really wonder about Orcons billing...

Not yet. Don't feel like sitting on hold when I've got dinner to cook and kids to feed. Was going to call in the morning if there were no responses.

You could say I should have called before posting on here but this is just to ridiculous... Surely others are in the same boat.

Why do this when Geekzone is such a vastly less painful experience?  With communication channels like this (and Facebook, Twitter etc.) calling the 'helpdesk' is the last option IMHO.  This is the same with several organisations I deal with.

Because Geekzone is not an official support channel for Orcon. The helpdesk is. Most people tend to do it the other way from you, contact Orcon directly, then if no go, they "go public" to see if they can get help, and then using GZ is one way of doing this.

We're just lucky Orcon have recognized this and their staff do monitor the forums to assist where possible.

It might not be an official support channel, but when you've just (yes just) spent over an hour on your cellphone with Orcon "support" (and I use that term very hesitantly) who wont bother reopening a call that should have remained open, it's no wonder people log their calls by way of geekzone!  Especially when the Orcon guys on here are super helpful!  You could state that they are Orcons saving grace!

Grrrrr!  Grumpy!

As someone currently on hold with Orcon and having to explain their current Chrous snafu multiple times, I completely agree the helpdesk isn't very helpful.

Hows the line quality?

When I mentioned that there were what sounded like dial buttons being pushed and really bad audio on the line she said that she had spoken to lots of people today and I was the only one with a complaint!
There was even one way audio several times (she could hear me, I could not hear her).  I initially thought she was just being rude and muting me!

Call quality on my 66 minutes of "help" was just fine, except for one point where I could hear him but he couldn't hear me.
