Im just wanting to know what other users experiences are with VDSL line errors.

From my original connection date i've experienced persistent line errors, now this never happened when i was on ADSL, i know that VDSL is more susceptible due to the wider freq range.

Now let me be clear in that the connection is excellent, see screen shot below:

But as you can see there is also a considerable amount of errors, what im interested to know is, how "normal" is this?

Wiring wise i spent my weekend rewiring my house from the termination point so that there is a direct link from the TP to the modem with a DSL splitter installed.

Originally i discovered that the line tester at the TP had oxidized wiring where the shielding had been cut through, so i removed the corroded wiring which has actually reduced the number of errors.

I am waiting for a testing modem from SNAP to see whether this is possibly a modem issue but somehow think that it wont make a differnece.

What are other peoples connections like?

This should be moved to the "VDSL Performance & Tuning" Sticky thread and you should also read that thread.

Very normal (actually very very good)

Yeah as above plenty of examples in the VDSL sticky, but to give an idea, I'm currently running mine with an SNR tweak at FEC = 320 per minute and CRC = 8 per minute with no issues.

Basically don't worry about FEC at all and if CRC is under 5 per minute you should be fine. Under 1 is probably better for CRC. But it *looks* like the limit for CRC before DLM does something about it might be around 10 per minute.
