I'm looking at getting UFB with Snap. I understand the Fritzbox routers can't be put into bridge mode, but I already have a fairly new Asus AC router which I don't really want to stop using. Can I disable the wireless on the Fritzbox, plug my router into one of the LAN ports on the Fritzbox, then still connect wirelessly to my Asus router? A phone plugged into the Fritzbox will still work even with wireless disabled?

Yes you can. This is exactly what I am doing right now. Have Wireless disabled on the fritz!box 7390 and have setup a Ubiquiti AP for the WiFi coverage. Working a treat. My cordless phone connected to the fritz!box phone port works fine as well with Snap's VOIP service.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Fibre or VDSL? If the Asus router you have is the AC66U you should be able to connect it's WAN port directly to the ONT, set the VLAN to 10 and enjoy. If it's not the AC66U, then it will depend on the model supporting VLAN tagging on the WAN interface.

Fibre. No VDSL available at our place. Yes it is the AC66U, does that already support VLAN tagging? What do I do about a phone line then?!

Connect the Fritzbox behind the Asus and just use it as an ATA?
