I have a 2degrees SIM inside a burglar alarm that uses cellular data to report back to the monitoring station. That phone shared data from my main 2degrees phone, which I migrated to Telecom on the 5th August. My number switched over to Telecom around 6-8pm on the 5th.

The last time my burglar alarm checked in to the monitoring station using the 2degrees SIM was around 6th August (it checks in irregularly so hard to say when data stopped). It has credit on the phone. I called 2degrees this morning who said they couldn't remove the shared data, and the guy seemed to have trouble understanding my issue, didn't seem to understand that a SIM card may not be in a phone. The plan has $15 credit. I tried to add a shared data value pack at 6:30am this morning, but as of 7:30am it hadn't shown up yet. I've put a Telecom SIM in and it's working ok.

I can't say for sure this is the problem, but there's a strong time correlation so seeming likely.

As this is a more complex issue can someone please put me in touch with a second level technician.

Thanks Salty, PM'd 2degrees care when I wrote the thread, just forwarded it to you too. I know if I called 2degrees again they'd eventually have sorted it out, but given I knew you guys were here I figured you might be a shortcut into the right person :)

No worries. As I mentioned in the email if it still doesn't work when you reset it you'll need to remove the SIM while the delete is repeated to make sure it executes correctly.

Great, thank you very much for doing that :) Now I have to work out how to reboot something that's battery backed up... might just let the alarm technician do it. They've scheduled two guys to come out and install an external antenna as that's what they thought the problem was. It did lose connectivity occasionally anyway, so I might as well let them come and install the antenna anyway.

Incidentally it's still showing as shared data from the number that's not with 2degrees, and the data pack hasn't applied. Maybe it'll drop off when I reboot?

I've deleted the back-end stuff that actually makes the sharing work. Someone else will need to clean up the self-care front end.

Ok I'll just ignore it, not too bothered about the UI so long as back end is ok thanks :)

Thanks to Salty and 2degrees care for the very quick problem resolution :) I think it's uncovered an issue that should probably be addressed, though one that probably won't happen very often.
