hmmm,

Enable web site tells me:

"Good news! Fibre broadband is available now."

Snap web site tells me:

"Oh no! It looks like you can't get UFB at your address."

Now the question has to be, who is correct LOL

Then all I have to do is figure out is it worth moving from my 200GB a month VDSL plan onto a 100GB/150GB UFB plan

Both. Snap more than likely does not have a handover setup yet in your area. Enable is the company providing UFB services to ISP's that need to sign contracts and setup handovers.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Hey there NZSimplicity,

Best option would be to send through your address to us in a PM so that we can get a proper answer for you!

Cheers,

Ralph.

Where do you live?

I live in Tauranga, have had a fibre thingamajig outside my house for over a year now, but, the only ISP's offering UFB to my address are Orcon (to be avoided at all costs) and an assortment of tiny companies you've never heard of.

Not saying the tiny local ISP's are no good, but, I don't know which ones are good and I need security as I need my connection sometimes for work. And I'm not sure about the local ISP support on a Friday night at 1 am when I'm trying to work.

Snap are going to start offiering UFB here in Tauranga later this year.  My VDSL runs at 65Mbps anyway, but, I want to give fibre a go as it is ultimately the way of the future and the cost is similar. (i think)

I thought Snap had already made the first few connections with UFF in Tga?

Given that Snap is Christchurch based, I would have thought they'd be the first to have a handover with Enable

Hi guys

We were the first RSP to have a handover with Enable, waaaay back in mid 2012. We've just had a bit of a delay getting the latest Enable addresses imported into our pre-qual tool. This is being worked on with some urgency and should be all sorted very soon.

In the interim anyone can contact us directly on 0800 BROADBAND and we can manage offline.

Cheers
Ralph

Hehehe looks like Snaps checker need a little update, it's good to know that I can switch over to UFB immediately even tho their web site says I can't (pictures Ralph frantically trying to get all the new enable addresses updated :) )
Thanks for doing the check for me Ralph, now all I got to figure out if it is worth giving up my 200GB free a month just for some more speed :P
