Hi, my mum just use her cellphone for emergencies. As her annual renewal is soon due is it possible to do this text transfer ie - Me2U - does the annual renewal get delayed for another 12 months? This could be a way to delay it if it is possible so we don't need to keep adding credit to her account that she uses very little.

If it doesn't work no worries we will just do a $20 top up :)

Not sure, but ME2U credit only lasts 60 days so I would guess that if you went down that route you would have to keep topping her up every 2 months, which is 6 times less convenient than a $20 topup which lasts a year.

You can do a $2 credit which I think the transferred amount of $2 is 2 months - but hopefully it delays the top up requirement for a year .... We just don't want her $20 or $30 to be wiped out by due date.

Me2U won't extend your credit expiry or SIM expiry.

As scottjpalmer suggested, you can just do a topup and then Me2U the credit to someone else.

Maybe I can do this with my mothers account

Top up $20 to keep her account active, and then transfer that credit to me which I will actually use.

Me2u'ing credit from an expiring sim to a used one doesn't work either, the credit you transfer still has its own expiry date. Moved $40 once and it expired a couple of weeks later.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the case. Any credit that is transferred by Me2U has a 60 day validity.

Thanks Z2k, yep ME2U credit lasts 60 days.

From the ME2U T & C's -
Me2U Credit will be valid for a period of 60 days from the date that it is transferred and will
be treated in the same way as a Re-charge Credit (or a Prepay top-up) except that Top up
and Get rewards will not accrue on any credit transferred using the Me2U Service.

End of.... 2011? i transferred some credit from an expiring sim, and it definitely transferred, then vanished when the sim it was transferred from expired a day or two later. Wasn't spent, just vanished, so i assumed it was because of the old sim deactivating.

So what happened was you did a Me2U and that credit was valid for 60 days, but your SIM expired before you could use that credit.

No you're misunderstanding, I transferred credit from an expiring sim to an active sim, for the reason that it had gained free credit from the text race nearly a year prior. The credit successfully transferred, but then vanished within a week from the active sim, which did not expire. I put this down to the sim it came from expiring or that the credit that had transferred still adhered to its original 1 year expiry date and didn't look into it beyond this. It definitely wasn't 60 days as the transfer was done in december and then was gone later within that month. The sim it was transferred to remains active and someone continues to use it to this day.

In that case, something didn't work as it should. You can always try calling customer care to have it investigated but trying to look into something that happened almost 2 years ago could be difficult. It can be done but could take longer.
