As per Orcons request in another thread, I have setup another thread on this to discuss any problems resulting from the hosting migration that has been occurring.

The current issue I am having is that Wordpress websites are unable to connect to the FTP server. Another Ocron cusomter has confirmed they are also having the same problem in the other thread.

Currently I get the following error when updating plugins Failed to connect to FTP Server ftp.###.co.nz:21 . Previously it was working fine.

you have migrated hosts, chances are the dns record is being a little sticky in the ISP's dns cache..

The topic isn't about migrating between difference web hosts. It is about Orcons hosting, where apparently they are migrating everyone over to new systems, which appears to be causing some problems.

Hi Guys, we haven't seen this in any numbers to spot a trend but the OOH team are looking at it now. At this time it doesn't look like any particularly pervasive single cause, this support requests we have in look unrelated to each other.

It isn't related to the Storage migration notification on the other thread, that is affecting the Orcon (not iServe) hosting platform.....and hasn't happened yet.

Thanks. If you read the title of the other thread that Murray posted, it is actually titled

iServe Planned Maintenance: Hosting Storage Migration

I thought the iserve brand no longer existed, and it all came under the orcon brand. Is there another orcon hosting service? I think you guys need to do something to avoid confusion, as I, like Murray, presumed that that network message referred to the old iserve platform, after the last outage 10 days ago due to migration, where orcon didn't put any announcement up, and you apologised for that.

There are three seperate hosting platforms, Orcon (original for want of a better description), iServe and KiwiWebHost. The network message refers to a 5-10min outage on the Orcon platform-hosted sites on 29/10.

We will work on being less confusing in future.

I've just successfully upgraded a WordPress site on the iServe platform. Thanks for getting that sorted FireEngine!
