Hi all

We have been having issues with VoIP stopping the Internet connection for all computers connected to Fritz!Box. Wi-Fi, DECT and USB are turned off on the Fritz!Box and the Wi-Fi is done by an Asus RT-AC66U.

The Fritz!Box is on firmware .22 because the newer firmware won't let the VDSL sync.

Traceroutes confirm the packets reach the Fritz!Box before failing.
Just to confirm, VoIP continues to work even though the Internet is unavailable for all the computers. We use an analog phone connected to the FXS port for VoIP calls.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I had the same issue! :) After much headscratching found that turning off the following setting resolved it. I recently "confirmed" this accidentily by restoring an old image of my fritzbox, which inadvertantly restored this setting. As you're seeing phone calls caused internet to drop (sometimes minutes or 10s of minutes after the call started, it was very annoying)

Anyway, quote from the VDSL thread:

- Go to the 'Telephony' menu
- Click on the 'Own Telephone Numbers' option
- Select the 'Line Settings' tab
- Untick the 'Use additional connection for Internet telephony via DSL (PVC)' option
- Click 'Apply'

This has already been disabled on my box. I'll try enabling them disabling it again.

As I stated, mines not running the latest firmware because it refuses to Sync on the latest firmware, I would gladly update if it would work just as well, but according to the main VDSL thread the older firmware is the most compatible. I might have to end up doing a factory reset which I wanted to avoid.

@vexxxboy: are you running snap Voip or voip from a 3rd party? I'm through 2talk and have had similar issues to the OP (which seemed to be resolved by turning off that setting above)
