A public holiday surcharge on networks to justify gear sitting somewhere that won't get used for 51 weeks of the year?

The Vodafone 4G at Whitianga, Hahei, and other Coromandel spots has solved the problems we usually have with mobile data. I got over 50Mbps download speeds on Vodafone, and 2degrees and Telecom are both painfully slow.
NzBeagle: I often find 2G a good backup in hotspots when things grind to a halt. Particularly these days when fewer are using 3G for their mobiles. However, data is not very useful at those speeds, but calling and sms work fine.
yes I find if I locked it to 2g it works better you actually receive calls texts and data even though it is really slow.
ZollyMonsta: You're on holiday in a beautiful place. Put down your phone for 5 minutes, breathe in the fresh air, enjoy the sun and try again later.
