I just wanted to rant about this.

Wtf is with 2degrees "missed call" texts. Yes I know I missed the damn call, my phone and every other phone on the planet displays a missed call icon. Why the f* do I have to go and delete a damn txt every time as well? And why do they come through sometimes twice, and often heavily delayed - so they are all the more irritating?!

I remember it used to be the case, at least on Vodafone, that you only got such a txt if your phone was offline at the time of the call, so the txt informed you when your phone couldn't. That was useful. The current 2degrees set-up is just ANNOYING!

How? And can you disable it without disabling missed call txts sent as a backup when the phone is off the network?

Valid point really they should only be sent if phone is off or out of coverage, Teach me to skim read :P

Hi, if you call 202, press option 3 and then option 2 you can switch off 'text alerts'.

I'm not talking about voicemail alerts, I'm talking about the dopey missed call txts that come through every single time I don't answer the phone!

Either answer you phone more often or disable them. Theres your choices, if your not happy with the choices then switch to another provider. If you don't want to switch then build a bridge and get over it.

This to me just proves that it doesn't matter what Telcos do there is always someone thats not happy.

Hi,

How do you turn them off?

If it is controlled by your voice message, that is not really any good because I do want to know when someone has left me a message (since Telcos have removed the "Waiting Message function" so you can only know you have messages if you get a SMS to tell you).

Is there another way to turn it off, because I haven't been able to find it online in my account.

Sorry I was under the understanding they had - from 2Degrees staff member in fact in Wellington when I questioned it.

So only going by information I was told.

But - any answer to my question about HOW you turn off the Missed Message SMS's?

Thanks - not really asking about the lost ICON however :)

The thing is - today is a perfect example - I had five meetings. In those meetings I didn't answer my phone and placed it on silences.

When I got back to my phone and was really able to check messages, I had 18 missed messages. Only two of them were from people in my contact list, and none of them left messages. My phone already tells me this, so instead I had to go through and delete 18 SMS which really had no benefit to me.

I know it sounds small - but honestly 5-6 SMS per day when the phone does it anyway.

So on this thread, You and someone else stated to turn the functionality off. 2Degress person stated to turn off in messaging (however, I am pretty sure I have already done that once and it didn't help fix the issue).

So - I am asking how since no one has offered up how to turn it off, but have suggested to turn it off (which is what I would love to do).
