Is it possible that running Utorrent could make my Fritzbox 7390 reboot itself every 5 - 10 min.

Our UFB as been a problem since launch and trying to figure out if anything at my end could be causing its content power cycles. Over the weekend ive noticed if I have Utorrent running especially when downloading at above 3 MB/s its completely rebooting the Fritzbox. When Utorrent is not running I don't seem to get disconnects.

Is this even possible Utorrent could do this, as Fritzbox seems to power completely off and then restart.

Snap dont seem to know whats causing the disconnects/power cycles and Enable are doing some tests and first test seems to indicate maybe Huawei box is not running on full power (but yet to confirm fully) and if this could even cause Fritzbox to be rebooting itself.

So has anyone else had issues with Utorrent running 2.2.1 with standard setting.

Are you getting power downs or simple disconnects with PPP timeout errors. Check your logs on the Frtiz!Box.

Getting (PPPoE error: Timeout) but all lights on Fritzbox are going out and its wiping log. Which I lead to believe is a power restart seeing logs are getting wiped on Fritzbox.

The PPPoE errors are common and it is something SNAP are trying to work through for a resolution. See the 200/50 trial thread.

As for the reboots of the modem it could very well be a setting that is causing that because of the idle time.

I have no idea what the default settings are in uTorrent but looking at the maximum number of sessions would be a good place to start. You could simply be trashing the Fritz!box NAT session table causing instability issues.

Torrents have historically always been a big problem for routers that aren't designed to have to keep track of hundreds, if not thousands of NAT sessions. As CPU and memory have got cheaper this issue has got better, but it's not difficult to trash pretty much anything on the market if you start trying to keep too many sessions open.

have heard of UFB guys having better luck with the newest version.

otherwise you can try a downgrade to 84.05.22, which is what most run on VDSL due to its far more stable nature.

when i was doing a beta test on the 84.05.58 firmware, i was getting the fritz reboots inwhich you describe (VoIP and games would crash the NAT table) so its worth playing around, see whats more stable for you.
