would anyone know why a capital R, is appearing periodically above the signal strength bars? I am in a semi rural area outside of Auckland. I did not think 2D used the telecom.

sorry John, should read "the Telecom Network". Have asked the 2D help desk, but they don't know either, I did ask if it was roaming, over to the Telecom Network, as there may be a stronger signal. This suggestion was met with "we (2D) do not use telecom". If it is roaming onto to Vodafone network, its strange as its only periodically happening, which would suggest, the 2D Network is greater than just Auckland.

It does mean roaming and 2D use the Vodafone NZ network for national roaming

Approx where are you located?

Sorry Kornflake but 2degrees does not have anything to do with Telecom, they roam on Vodafone outside the places 2degrees don't have their own network.

Firstly thank you for the info, I'm located just out of Wanganui, in regards to the coverage link. Is the blue foot print 2D coverage only, or is it 2D/voda coverage, for 2D customers? as at present, the phone is not indicating that it is roaming.

2D does have some sites in Wanganui (I saw them when I was at Cemetery circuit) So the phone can switch between 2D and Vodafone coverage

Only the main 4 cities are locked down if I remember correct and 2D customers can't roam onto the VFNZ network
