Hi All,

I'm currently on Snap naked DSL and use my own ATA (SPA2102) with a 2talk account for voice.

We're moving into a new house soon and will have UFB, and will carry on my contract with Snap. Their UFB plans all have voice included, so I guess no point in keeping the 2Talk account...but my question is can I use my current ATA with Snap?

I don't want to get a FrtizBox, but instead am getting a MikroTik RB2011 and will use that for the UFB connection. Hopefully I can use the SPA2102 with Snap's voice service, anyone know if that's possible?

Do they use SIP registration, or is it peering? I remember setting up a FritzBox for a customer once (using 2Talk SIP Peering) and remember I had to go to some crazy lengths to stop the FritzBox using port 5060 (had no analogue phones available on hand so wheeled photocopier into server room and set the FritzBox a fax with it to configure it....but that's another story :-)

Any help appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi,

Yes it is possible, I just got it going yesterday. I am using an Asterisk server to connect and then connecting my SPA2102 to that but it should be possible to get the SPA2102 to work. I will try to get the settings written up today or tomorrow in the thread here.

Thanks,
Niall

Thanks Niall,

Have had a look at that thread and will have a crack at getting it working when we move.

Cheers,
