Me and a few others have been pinging 100+ to non Orcon servers the last few nights. From about 8:30 to 10:30.

I did a few traces:

And after 11pm (Was sharing the connection at this point)
http://pastebin.com/tkPLJNmR

I know two people on Orcon ADSL having the same problem, and one on UFB with no issues. I'm using VDSL if that makes any difference.

Anyone else having issues? Will do some more traces tomorrow night.

Certainly interesting, I'll pass it to our network team for comment.  I know that last night, there was some kind of large scale DDOS going on causing delays all over, but nothing of interest tonight that I know about.

Hi I have been having the same issues- yesterday was 150-200 ping and tonight there have been lag spikes every 20 mins or so. Reached capacity Orcon?

You wouldn't happen to be on the "unlimited" plan by any chance would you? ;)

Plan makes NO difference at Orcon. Unlimited Plan traffic is not shaped in any way. We have no shaping of any kind. Hope that is clear :-)

I am on the ADSL Unlimited plan- and the servers are Australian. Not too worried about American as this is an FPS game (Team Fortress 2)

To Australia - 130ms to 300ms at times. Normally about 40ms.

Could easilly be the far end. I know some servers do have issues. If it was accross the whole game "platform" it might be a worry. Is it still ongoing?
Did you PM your account details to anyone? If so who and I can grab it off them, if not could you please send it to me?

Its worth checking your connection out so lets start with that and wait for Ubergeeknz to comment on any large scale DDoS attacks.

Have been informed that we've today made some changes to our Peering for Australia, which should improve the situation.  Those who've been having trouble, it'd be awesome if you can provide some feedback this evening so we know if it's worked.

@flamebeard- it's across all australian servers, some of which have different providers.

@ubergeekz- thanks, will do!

Hi Rangi, we don't like the look of that first bit of latency, the team will contact you to troubleshoot that. The changes we made to the Aus routing is in place and seems to be working but doesn't stop you having a separate line issue unfortunately.
