Just noticed this on wires, no idea how it impacts... us:

“Many service providers across the globe are using our technology to become more efficient, grow their business and provide exemplary customer service,” said Affinegy CEO and co-founder Melissa Simpler. “This has enabled us to roll out new products and versions of existing products under the CHARIOT name to these providers. We are ecstatic that Orcon New Zealand has embraced this opportunity.”

With the upgrade CHARIOT Cloud 6.1, Orcon gains many new features including:

  • New Alarm and Enhanced Policy Management that provide proactive monitors tied into rule-activated actions that can issue SNMP traps and run scripts tied to optimizing services to the home and service footprint
  • Inform Message Policy Rules file with enhanced policy criteria logical via JSTL
  • ACS GUI change - Removal of pop-ups windows for modal dialogs
  • ACS User Groups, for enhanced management of roles granted to admin users
  • MySQL Database Server support, for improved replication and high-availability deployments
  • Software Modules to manage software components on devices running standardized platform environment

“Orcon provides its customers with the highest performance Internet available. This is a major upgrade of our automated CPE provisioning platform but as far as end users concerned it is absolutely transparent and at this stage does not change anything. As cool as this product is, upgrade is more about future-proofing this platform, having new features available there and catering for potential upcoming new types of CPE etc. Plus looks like marketing guys at Affinegey got a little bit too excited and posted this press release a bit prematurely. It is still work in progress.
