so we've been learning how to use windows server a a router as part of my course at CPIT.

I've been trying to do a pppoe connection from my server to the modem wich is in bridge mode, but i keep getting error 651.

I've set the VLAN ID to 10 on the network adaptor that's connected to LAN1 on the modem.

I'm hoping to use windows server for DHCP and NAT etc and to serve the connection out to the other lan port on my server to the rest of my network.

but its not working! anyone got any ideas?

im on hold to slingshot at the moment, been here for 20 minutes so thought i'd ask here too.

PPPoE connection works OK with the same credentials entered directly in to the modem?

No idea what modem you're using but in all the major brands of VDSL2 modems in NZ you'd set the VLAN10 in the modem when configuring in bridge mode.

oh, it does now. turns out 'service name' needed to be exactly what it was on the modem so "Bridging_10_1"

i assumed i just needed a username and password. now to figure out how to set up nat and whatnot :P
