Just got a call from Snap! - apparently the 200Mbps plan is being discontinued (as of tomorrow for me), so I'm back on the 100/50 plan.

It would be fair to say that it had it's share of issues (e.g. international speed, disconnects when downloading large files) but it was looking to be getting those resolved. To be honest I'd be a lot more upset if I'd managed to find any activity where the extra speed made any meaningful difference - as it is, it's really just a loss of bragging rights...

I would be interested if anyone was able to give an official statement outlining why it has been discontinued - and if there's any hope of it coming back anytime.

Chris.

ild say they are discontinuing it while they get the issues sorted..

i do hear that theres alot of work going into the 200mbit tests...

ild say they are simply dropping back to 100/50 for everyone, so their connections are stable and then once 200mbit issues are sorted im sure it will return.

I was told the other night that they're bringing it back in a few months. Perhaps the test has concluded and they're readying for general release.

Other ISPs aren't having the same issues, so it stands to good reason that they'll bring it back once they've sorted their BNGs out.

I'd say the exact opposite: for me it's been riddled with issues and I think they've realised that there are too many issues and/or they're too complex, and there's no fix in sight any time soon.

Any hints as to the reason why there's been so many issues with this? With people dropping below the speeds of other plans, but those lower speed plans being fine, its obviously not an overall capacity issue.

I haven't found any problem with the 100/50 plan.
