Peoples,

Quick look over the last few topics in the forum does not show the content of a text message from 2D this morning.

--snip--
Good News! As of today, your Share Everything plan includes voicemail at no extra cost. Plus, anyone you share calls & text with gets free voicemail too. Enjoy!
--snip--

So ....... I can change all the phones I have on my share everything plan to dial the normal voice mail number now rather than their own cellphone number.

I assume the above text message means that it will no longer cost 20 cents per access, however I don't think its "free", I assume its using my minutes as such.

Happy days ...

Cheers

Lee

It's free. And besides, since your minutes are unlimited, even if it was using some hypothetical amount of your unlimited minutes - which I assure you it isn't - it wouldn't matter anyway. :-)

How did you access voicemail by ringing your own number?  I tried that and the only thing I did was succeeded in leaving myself a message!

Umm free now as of today. Was costing 20 cents per call if dialling the voice mail number before (you could ring yourself and not incur the 20 cent access fee, but you needed press a few more keys).

Either way this change saves me about $12 across my phones when they already had "unlimited" calling.

Next thing 2D should tackle with the share everything plans is the impending issue of a whole load of prepay sims falling off the network due to having had no top ups for the year!

Cheers

Lee

Press # or * (sorry brain fade) when you hear your message.

When should they expire? 20 years down the track? It's comments like these that make me loose faith in humanity.

not sure you understand, 2D treat the share everything plans as "packs" for the phones they apply to outside of the main phone. So despite the fact your paying for each phone (sim) per month to be on the plan, you still need to top up the phone (sim) at least once a year (min $20), to keep it online.

My humanity is fine as I object (a little) to paying for a "hidden" connection charge on phones that have unlimited call plans and are in turn having money spent "on them" per month.

Im sure there is fine print explaining this all over the show, but it did surprise me a few months ago when I was able to confirm it.

A good tip as I have more than enough carryover minutes, and don't like paying extra for Voicemail.

I just tried and it worked if you press *  as your own message plays, then you'll need to enter your PIN to hear your voicemail :-)

Sorry Steve, To directly answer your question, how about 12 months after any paid service has been applied to the given sim?

One might even wonder whether I hadn't already thought of that and fixed it. :-D

Wasn't that fixed a long time ago?

Yes, the Shared Data product extends the prepay SIM's validity every time you use it. The Share Everything product does it every month when the pack's owner has their bill date.

I was almost going to say SaltyNZ mentioned this back when shared data was first introduced, but wondered if it was a dirty secret, just like the unmetered data Telecom/TIVO customers still get.

(shot in foot x2) :-)

Lol, no, it's not a secret. Wouldn't really be fair to cut those SIMs off would it?

Glad to hear its changed, two out of three calls to 2D CS this morning also agree. The third suggested a top up on the prepay sims was still required to keep them active.

ill go with majority rule .... thanks for the common sense approach that was taken with these packs!.

Cheers
