Hi, as per the title, my Atrix 2 (it supports only 2100Mhz HSPA and all the usual GSM frequencies) voice calls garble when connected to HSPA, when the phone calls on 2G or with data off the voice quality is fantastic, otherwise it's alien overlord sounding.

Is this a network issue?  I'm in Auckland central, I'm really trying to find out what the issue is!

Just tested with a Vodafone sim.  Calling with 3G/HSPA enabled gave a clear, audible call, so seems it's either some back end 2 degrees thing or a reception issue.

Hi, where exactly are you in Akl CBD and are you calling another 2degrees number?  You may be getting some interference on the 3G signal using HD Voice. Do you have another 3G phone to try your SIM in and see if it's the same or a phone issue?

Please PM details including your number, exact location and what you're seeing onscreen, no. of signal bars, H, H+ etc.

Cheers

Hi phone is being used in Grey Lynn, on a roof top with clear visibility to all four corners of Auckland.  I put my HTC One's 2Degrees sim card in the Atrix 2 and there is the alien robot noise, so it's not the SIM.  My HTC One on 2Degrees works perfectly.  Calls only garble when on H (does not display + symbol).  When you disable 3G networks in settings, calls go back to normal, so EDGE data can be enabled and call works fine.  Signal is usuall 4-5 bars.

As above I wanted to test it wasn't just a 2100Mhz only issue (as the device doesn't have 900Mhz) but a Vodafone sim worked perfectly also.

PM'd you the number and exact address.  Cheers.

What number are you calling, on net or off net? This is very important because it could identify issues such as a possible media gateway fault for off net calls.

Calling 2 Degrees, Vodafone, and a Telecom home line all displayed the issue
