I can pop my ISP emails fine. Is there a way to SMTP it? I know you can get a Outlook / Gmail and alter the reply address or get a second one. Is there another way .. where you can just type in the SMTP? My ISP SMTP blocks me when I am not connected to them (when I am outside).
Some ISPs have secure SMTP servers (like Xtra - send.xtra.co.nz) and they will work anywhere. You could sign up for a yahoo email address and use theirs, and add your current email to the allowed senders (it is the same a xtra's but you don't need a telecom account).
You probably need to authenticate against the ISP SMTP first - check your settings and itll probably have an area for entering your ISP username/password - put these in and it should work.
I set up Yahoo for it. You can only select one default reply email address (from dropdown list). Had a Yahoo I don't use email but just for Flickr.
Here at home on WiFi. I tried Snap. It works without authentication (username / password). But once I added them in, it fails to register. Tried x@snap.net.nz and also just x. I know it is the right username b/c I tried to log onto my account before.
Edit - to correct that. The default reply address doesn't need to be adjusted. If it is set to the original Yahoo email address. From the handset if you send an email ... it uses whatever email you have setup.
