Anyone noticing issues with this?  I can confirm two cases of it not working.  It got progressively worse over the last week or two - Specifics being, intermittent error messages occuring on multiple device types before playback.  It's now less intermittent and more or less each and every time.  I know of someone else with exact same issue - both on unlimited plans, both on multiple devices.

It looks like 'either' slingshot global mode has a fault, netflix is now blocking in a new way, or theres something in between interfering with it.

This is happening with other DNS services as well - UnoTelly and Unblock-Us. It seems Netflix has changed something in the last couple of days that affects these services.

Seems we're getting a few errors on Apple TV, though I haven't been using it myself, others in the house are complaining that it has been giving many errors and not working half the time

Thanks for the info - I am aware of one VPN service that worked as of a few minutes ago - but haven't been able to find any solid info on where this might be an issue - until now!

Are you aware of any links to discussions elsewhere that may be going on?  I can't find any...

Thanks,

Netflex and other on demand services are actively blocking geo-blocking services and have been for the last month or so.

Any ISP offering the service (which wasn't exclusive to Slingshot, it was offered to lots of ISPs) always faced this risk which is why nobody else touched it. The backlash from customers was always inevitable when services stopped working which was always ultimately going to happen. There had been speculation since mid last year that both Netflix and Hulu were under increasing pressure from rights owners to do something about people using geo-blocking services to access content.

lxsw20 are you able to indicate any differences in your setup?  Do you use same ISP (slingshot) etc?

Nope I'm using SS global mode. I am on SS gear at the exchange if that makes a difference.

Are you using an Apple TV or a Netflix compatible device?  Or a PC/Mac?

I can get into the various areas of netflix no problem - just can't actually play a video.  I wonder if there's anything client related - I think there have been updates sent to ios, android and silverlight recently....

Wild guess.

Mac with Chrome/Safari works, appears my iPhone is not. Will try Apple TV later on.

Safari not working for me - though occasionally it'll play once.  Same symptoms across all devices at present.

You may find that the issue is only on Netflix US and Canada.  If it's the same as the issue over Unotelly Netflix UK works fine.

OK - so we appear to have three threads on essentially the same issue and the UnoTelly discount thread has been hijacked for the same as well, bringing it to four...

Can we please all agree to put these issues into one thread - i.e. this one - Netflix Troubles
