Greetings,

Earlier this year I updated my Ativ S Windows Phone to what I assume is the gd2 update, via settings-phone update. I am on 2degrees prepay plus. I hear that Microsoft has since released the next update, gd3, but it doesn't seem to be available for my phone. After checking for updates, even today, it days "your phone is up to date".

Does anyone know if 2degrees plan on making this update available to customers using Windows phones, or could it be something I've missed, such as the need for a factory reset, etc?

I sincerely appreciate any help and advice.

My OS specs:
OS version: 8.0.10327.77

if you hang tight for a bit longer, you should be able to jump to wp 8.1 instead

ok thanks heaps for that, from what I've read so far, Windows Phone 8.1 looks quite impressive.

On my ATIV S OS version is 8.0.10517.150.

As Feb says...  Hang out another 10 days for the 8.1 update.

Yeah once we see the first units getting wp 8.1, then we can ask the respective carriers of an Eta. And then lean on them a little.

Probably going to be a long wait for 8.1 on the Ativ S. I did the CSC change trick to get gdr3 on my Ativ S, but better to just be patient and not mess with that, mine seems to have messed up localization now despite it being set back to NZC.

Do you know if they have any firmware updates planned for them to fix the Bluetooth issues?

I find it disconnects constantly requiring me to reboot the phone, or turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on.

Happened with gdr2 and 8.1, happens with both of our cars, sometimes it might do it every five minutes, sometimes longer.  My wife has a Lumia 820, it stays connected to both cars without issue

Hi Microsoft people
can you give any sort of timeframe for WP8.1 on the Ativ S? very keen to get it but I'm too far behind in updates to use developer preview.

Any posts are personal comments and not that of my employer

I'll try to find out. Ultimately this is a question for Samsung and the operators that sold them here, which I think was Telecom and 2D, but ill try to find out

Yes it was both telecom and 2 degrees who ship them here, last time I had to lean hard on both Samsung and 2 degrees to get gdr2 released, initially they both played the blame game but we got there with 2 degrees finally pulling through, with windows 8.1 being such a big update it will be hard for telcos to ignore

Took the plunge and signed up for the developers preview, updated to the latest version and then upgraded to 8.1

It auto installed an update after the installation and all my contacts and apps are also all on my phone.

No problems so far, haven't tried everything yet, such as camera or videos, but so far so good...

Have to say this new version is very good indeed, seems much more user friendly with more detailed descriptions about things on your phone. Also love the new start screen wallpaper, swipe keyboard seems a little tricky but I'm sure with practice it could be quite good..

if you want a walkthrough of some of the new 8.1 features, the try.nokia.com site is awesome for that (even for HTC 8S/8X and Samsung ATIV owners) :-)

Well after a week on Windows Phone 8.1 no serious problems as yet, only bugs so far seem to be with the flashlight. When activated, either by the camera or a third party app like torch, the phone intermittently reboots itself. Also some battery drain issues when using power hungry apps like Facebook and Moliplayer Pro.

Other than this, everything else seems ok, really enjoying this new OS, very good indeed. Windows Phone 8.1 is truly the most personalized smartphone operating system currently available (imo)
