Hi

I did a search for setting up email for iOS and found nothing.

One of our employees here wants to set up her personal email on her iPhone. It looks like a 4S running iOS7. She said she has tried but Slingshot tell her over the phone that it can't be done. She came to me (being the IT guy) in the hopes I could help. I jump on Slingshots site and it has instructions to do so but does not seem to work

Has anyone been able to set up Slingshot email on an iOS device?

IMAP is probably better for use on a phone.

Already visited that link. I've tried pop and imap. No dice.

The error it replies with is that username and password is incorrect. We tried on the webmail interface and it worked. Put in the correct username and the correct password and no dice. I think this one is a little odd. I've done the usual IT troubleshooting things and nothing works.

here's what works for me , ios 7 , 4s.

Imap.slingshot.co.nz, my slingshot user name and password

I'm on vodafone, so
SMTP settings are
...smtp2.vodafone.net.nz as primary smtp server, username blank, password blank, ssl on, port 25, authentication nothing
....Other smtp servers - smtp.slingshot.co.nz, username blank, password blank, ssl OFF , port 25, authentication nothing

I see under Advanced, I have Incoming mail settings - ssl off, authentication password, server port 143

After all that I think my slingshot email works ok for sending when at home on slingshot wifi, and when on 3g, but not at work on wifi with unknown ISP

Good luck, the Slingshot web help cant cover every variation
