Morning,
On the weekend i bought my wife a nexus 5 from 2degrees Palmerston North, signed her up to a value pack.

The question i have is when in range of wifi does the phone use wifi instead of using data from the value pack? And obviously when out of wifi range the must revert back to using data if needed?

Any help much appreciated.

If in range of a known Wifi SSID with saved connection settings, Android will connect if Wifi is enabled. While wifi is connected, it is used in preference to mobile data. When not connected to wifi, if mobile data is enabled, mobile data is used. You can see the wifi/data icons on the status bar at the top to check at a glance anyway.

Hi DamageInc

To ensure you do not connect to data if and when the Wi-Fi connection drops turn off 'Mobile data' in Settings.

We advise regularly checking your pack data balance to ensure you're on the best Prepay rates.  Here's more info on our Value Packs

You can check your usage and balances in various ways online at Your 2degrees or on your phone using our mobile app - Mobile app - or the *100# menu, more info - star100hash menu

Great choice of phone btw! ;)

Cheers
