Anyone got any ideas?
I have Global Mode on, dumped my Unblock-us account.
Using Slingshots VDSL modem and also airport express.
DNS settings are 202.180.64.10 and 202.180.64.11.

I can access Netflix, Hulu Plus, Iplayer, ITV Player but not Amazon Prime and CBS.com??????
Madness!

Thanks for the reply! Thought I was going crazy! Slingshot insist that Amazon Prime works and also CBS. Give up and will carry on with Unblock -us  then. I guess that I might approach Slingshot about a complaint under the Consumer Guarantees Act. They are advertising a service and not supplying it.

Yes that's a great idea, then once you have done that slingshot will just say it's to much trouble and remove the product.

Just be happy it's working for "most" things, if something does not work then do what the rest of us do and use a 3rd party service to get it working.

Hey peeps, just got an email back from the Global Mode guys saying everything should be working fine for Amazon Prime. What kind of error are you getting?

Cheers,
Chris

You have got to be kidding, works for most things, why would that be good? Why would you pay for a service that does not do what it claims to do.
Chris it is all very well saying it works a soon as I moan about it on Geekzone but you ignored my emails .
It is still geo blocked for Amazon and CBS and I am not the only one, go figure, Unblock-us works so it is not something particular to me.

Still keen to find out what error you're getting so we can look at getting it fixed. Sorry If I've missed your emails but if you can tell me specifically what's not working with Amazon and CBS I can let the global mode team know and sort it out.

good. If they can't have a product that works as advertised then they shouldn't do it.

More effort and $ spent in global mode means less effort and $ into actual broadband.

If the internet was a static never changing world, then there would never be a problem.

Stop being an imbecile, get your head out of the sand and perhaps (here is a good suggestion for you...) help slingshot fix the problem.

Don't be so stupid.

SS can't guarantee any site on the internet outside of their network is going to work. Neither can any of the other telcos.  (Global mode or not)

Can the weather service accurately and absolutely confirm exactly what the weather will do each and every day...

Honestly, some people are just not meant for the internet.

Nothing works perfectly 100% all of the time.  Slingshot have twice now in this thread said they think it should work, and to let them know what's happening for you.  If you're unwilling to even say what is going wrong, how are they supposed to fix the problem?  You'd rather pay for another service and just carry on complaining rather than fix the problem?

Just wanted to add to this thread that I have global mode on, have tried it and it works perfectly.

I commend Slingshot for being innovative, providing content access solutions and also taking on bold challenges in what is currently a very competitive coms market.
Hopefully this endeavour has paid off for Slingshot and they will continue to be innovative to capture more of the market through competitive pricing and features.

I think you'd get laughed out of the place if you complained to someone who vaguely knew how the internet worked.

What an incredibly bunch of rude people you are, what a surprise Slingshot resolved the problem which they are obliged to do , but of course you guys are quite happy to settle for less than what they advertise that is up to do but I am not stupid nor an imbecile and Yes as the op I was serious and Slingshot take things seriously when you post on here, that was my intention to get it fixed. Oh and my plan worked, meanwhile some rude unhelpful posters think that when someone asks for help on geek zone it is a cart blanche to call names.

The ignorance here is overwhelming.

Why ANY telco would bother to give you the time of day, let alone provide you with service is beyond me.

Also you were not really asking for help, but rather more demanding Slingshot fix a service (which they provide for free unlike other methods available) and even threats to go to the commerce commission.

I think we need a digger here, because this one's head is in the sand real deep....
