After months of waiting(trying to get neighbours consent) I finally got fibre installed last week. Naturally I am over the moon but before I knew it I have nearly chewed thru my 300 Gb monthly allowance and I have only 7 Gb left until the next billing cycle ( 10 August for me) I contacted tech support to change over to a unlimited plan but they tell me I have to wait until 10 Aug ( which is an eternity for a new fibre user )

It's like having a Porsche on the autobahn but only 5 litres of petrol!

SNAP - can you please review the policy

Why don't you log into your account on the Snap website, and add an additional data pack to tie you over for the rest of your billing month?

Does seem odd, they should be able to part monthly bill each service to allow the upgrade to happen on any day... Other isps do this.

there are a few isps with systems that you have to wait till after that billing cycle..

snaps billing system does have a fair few odd things to it however..

your talking just over a week, add some additional data and hold off on thrashing the poor connection for a few days!

You should be able to log in online and upgrade your package yourself, unless they changed that since that's what I did (though not for switching to unlimited, only for increasing cap)

You're right, its not great and its certainly on the list of things to change. No timing just yet though.

To tide you over until the 10th we've found a bit of extra data in the cupboard which is now yours ;)

300GB is like 5 liters of petrol? I have 100GB per month and I have to try to use more than half. Turn down your streaming quality or stop downloading stuff.

i watch everything in the highest quality, have all my steam games auto updating and such, and if i tried, i could come close to only using 100GB. 300GB takes effort of downloading a fair bit..

You must not have a internet connected household, my household has 7 people and we easily use 200GB, we average 300GB a month.

Also I think his 5 litres of petrol analogy was regarding the fact he only had 7GB left.

fair point, just me and the gf living here. with another one of me, i could see it easily going twice as high..
